After the release of debut album Song of the New Heart and Song of Distance, his second album, singer-songwriter Mazgani is now preparing his third album, to be released independently towards the end of Septembre/early October.

From now until then, he will share with his fans certain exclusive items, lyrics, and new music as well as offer pre-sales of the several formats of the new record. While Crowdfunding as a concept is fairly new in Portugal, it has become an internationally recognized way of raising funds while sharing content directly, from artists to fans.

Since the release of Song of Distance, Mazgani has not just toured in Portugal but also played internationally, in Spain, France, the Netherlands and other countries; in the absence of a label we now have the freedom to chart out a course that brings Mazgani and his fans closer together, offering the fans a more personal artist experience outside the traditional editorial model.

The funds obtained by this Crowdfunding effort will go towards the production costs of a record that will be produced in a first-rank studio with top personnel… matching the artistic vision of the project, that led it towards the necessity of assuring a budget that sustains an international production. We promise big surprises about where and with whom the record is to be made…!

Meanwhile, we also invite you to the premiere screening of “The Road to Mazgani” at the IndieLisboa Festival in Lisbon on the 4th of May. We are counting on you both for the PPL Crowdfunding drive as well as the IndieLisboa screening!

Daqui até lá, vai partilhar com os seus fãs certos artigos exclusivos, letras, e nova música bem como efectuar pré-vendas dos vários formatos do novo disco. O Crowdfunding, sendo um conceito relativamente novo em Portugal, já é bastante reconhecido internacionalmente, e é uma excelente forma de partilha de conteúdos directamente entre artistas e fãs.

Desde a edição de Song of Distance, Mazgani tem percorrido o país de um lado ao outro e muitos de vós têm-se juntado a nós nessas actuações. Na ausência de uma editora, temos a liberdade para delinear um caminho de aproximação entre Mazgani e os fãs de forma a proporcionar uma experiência muito mais pessoal, fora do modelo tradicional editorial.

No palco do Olga Cadaval, Mazgani apresentar-se-á acompanhado pelo seu guitarrista, num espectáculo de um intimismo de grau superior ao que o seu público está habituado. Uma maneira diferente de ouvir o intenso material de Song of Distance, que terá edição internacional alargada por alturas do Sintra Misty.

Following his international Summer appearances, Mazgani returns to more familiar stages with an encore appearance at the Sintra Misty Festival where he played last year, graduating to the main stage this year.

He will play on the 15th of October accompanied only by his guitarist Sérgio Mendes – for a differente, more intimate interpretation of the acclaimed Song of Distance album.

Meanwhile, back in Portugal, work continues on the editing of the Rui Pedro Tendinha-directed road movie / documentary “Road to Mazgani”, which should be ready by the Fall. Here is the second teaser:

On Saturday June 25th, Mazgani plays Lisbon’s newest and shiniest venue, TMN ao vivo. The old Armazem F in the Cais de Sodré neighbourhood, down by the riverside, has been reborn a new venue that promises great shows to the Lisbon audiences.

Mazgani will kick out the jams on the TMN ao vivo stage with his band on Saturday June 25th. Tickets can be bought via www.ticketline.pt at 8€ with an early start time (doors open at 21:00, showtime 22:00 sharp).  But that’s not all…

Portuguese director Rui Pedro Tendinha has been working on a Mazgani road movie, which should be completed soon, gathering footage from the international tour in February as well as the home-coming Teatro Aberto show that followed. The first teaser is now out, and can be viewed below. The second teaser will debut at the TMN ao vivo, prior to Mazgani’s concert.

O concerto, a 11 de Março, acontecerá no seguimento das datas europeias da tournée de Mazgani, que passaram recentemente por Espanha, França e Holanda.

O espectáculo em Lisboa contará ainda com convidados especiais, e também com o regresso aos palcos de Old Jerusalem, convidado especial de primeira parte.

”Gostaríamos de oferecer aos que nos acompanham uma noite especial, de festa, trazendo na bagagem o entusiasmo de poder partilhar a nossa música em nossa casa” diz Mazgani.

No seguimento desta data, a tournée de “Song of Distance” continuará, pelo território nacional, com datas no Porto (Hard Club, 18 de Março, com Old Jerusalem) e Arcos de Valdevez (Sons de Vez, 25 de Março) bem como duas datas na Galiza nesse mesmo fim de semana.
